Can you quote a gas line from the distance alone?
Distance is one factor. We also need the appliance models and fuel, existing gas supply, other connected equipment and the proposed route. An accessible basement route involves different work from a line behind finished walls or beneath a patio. Photos and drawings help establish what needs an on-site assessment.
When should I contact Platinum Gas during a renovation?
Before framing, walls, cabinetry, decking or landscaping restrict the route. Share the equipment specifications and construction schedule so gas work can be coordinated with access openings, excavation and other trades before finishes are installed.
Can one gas line supply several planned appliances?
That depends on their combined demand, the available supply and the route. Send the full appliance list, including later additions, so we can assess whether a line with branches is suitable or whether other supply changes are needed.
Who handles locates, digging and repairs to finished surfaces?
Your quote assigns those responsibilities. Underground work requires the appropriate utility locates, and privately installed lines such as house-to-BBQ or pool-heater piping need separate private locates. Excavation, drywall, stone, cabinetry and landscape restoration are included only when the quote says so.
What affects gas-line installation cost?
Appliance demand, line length, route, materials, protection and access affect the price. The quote also depends on the number of appliance connections, testing and any excavation or finish work. Providing the complete appliance plan helps us price the actual job.
What should I keep in mind after the line is installed?
Keep shutoffs and service access clear, and retain the installation information. Have the supply reviewed before adding or changing an appliance. Do not move or alter gas piping yourself. Arrange the appropriate utility and private-line locates before future digging near underground lines.
