Gas furnace installation in Bowmanville, sized right, not oversized.

An oversized furnace short-cycles, burns more fuel and wears out sooner. Reilly, the owner and a G2 gas technician with more than a decade in the trade, sizes your new natural gas or propane furnace to the house, and the quote is free.

A quote that lists everything

The free quote covers the furnace, gas connection, venting, condensate drain, thermostat hookup, removal of the old unit and startup. If ductwork, electrical or a liner for the water heater's chimney comes up, you'll know who's handling it and what's involved before you decide. Comparing quotes is a lot easier when each part of the job is spelled out.

Installed, tested and explained

We start the new furnace, check how it runs and walk you through the thermostat, filter changes and yearly maintenance before leaving, so you're not guessing later. The work carries a workmanship warranty, and evening and weekend appointments are available if a weekday install doesn't suit.

Measurements being taken around an existing furnace for replacement planning

Older furnaces often vent through the chimney, while a high-efficiency replacement usually needs a new vent route and a drain. We check both before quoting, along with any water heater still sharing that chimney. Platinum Gas is based in Bowmanville and installs furnaces across Durham Region, Port Hope and Cobourg. Send photos of your current furnace, its rating label and the space around it, and mention any cold rooms or renovation plans.

Furnace replacement and new installation

Existing furnace replacement

Replace the furnace and review its connections.

Repeated repairs, unavailable parts or changes in heating performance can prompt a replacement. Share the current model, fuel and any comfort concerns so the new equipment can be assessed against your home.

We identify what can be reused and which gas, venting, duct, drain or control connections need changing. The quote also addresses removal of the old furnace and preparation required before the new one arrives.

Closed furnace in a practical replacement-planning setting

New furnace or renovation

Coordinate heating before the renovation closes in.

An addition or renovation may change the heating load, duct layout or space available for a furnace. The equipment selection needs to account for the finished home and any required heating design.

Bring drawings and equipment specifications early. We review the gas supply, vent route, access and connections, then identify the ductwork, electrical or drainage preparation needed from other contractors.

Thinking about a new furnace?

We check the venting, drain and any water heater still on the old chimney before quoting, so install day has no surprises.

Furnace replacement questions

What to confirm about furnace sizing, existing connections and the full installation quote before choosing equipment.

Can an existing furnace be replaced with any new gas furnace?

The replacement needs to suit the home's heating requirements, fuel, ducts, venting and controls. We also review electrical supply, condensate drainage and equipment access. Matching the old furnace's rated size alone does not establish the right replacement for the home.

Does every furnace quote include ductwork and electrical work?

The written quote identifies the furnace and gas work Platinum Gas will complete. Any duct, electrical, thermostat, drain or finishing work is listed as included or assigned to another contractor. Confirm those responsibilities before comparing quotes or scheduling installation.

Can the existing gas line always be reused?

The existing line needs to suit the new furnace's requirements and the other connected gas appliances. Its size, route, material and condition are reviewed before reuse is confirmed. The replacement quote identifies any required gas-line changes.

What photos help with a furnace request?

Send a wide view of the furnace and mechanical area, along with a readable equipment label if safely visible. Include the venting, duct connections and nearby access where you can photograph them without removing panels. Mention renovations, cold rooms and any equipment proposal you already have.

What affects furnace installation cost?

The furnace model, heating-size review and required gas, venting, duct or control changes affect installation cost. Electrical connections, condensate drainage, equipment access and removal also matter. Your quote identifies the included work and anything assigned to another contractor so the full project can be compared.

What care does a new furnace need?

Arrange a professional inspection each year, preferably before the heating season. Follow the manufacturer's filter type and replacement instructions and keep the service area clear. Retain the manual, model and service history. Report changes in heating, sound or operation so they can be assessed.
