Can a Gas Fireplace Insert Heat a Room? Sizing and Heat Distribution
An insert can provide useful room heat, but the right answer comes from the appliance, opening and room together rather than a universal square-foot claim.

Yes, a properly selected gas fireplace insert can provide useful supplemental heat to the room where it is installed.
